ITDC Recruitment 2023: Seeking Part Time Medical Officer


India Tourism Development Corporation Limited (ITDC) is inviting applications for the engagement of a Part Time Medical Officer (MO) on a contract basis. The primary responsibility of the MO will be to provide medical advice to ITDC's Executives and Staff.


Qualifications, Experience & Conditions:

The candidate must possess an MBBS/MD degree recognized by the Medical Council of India with valid registration. Candidates with an MD qualification will be given preference. The incumbent should have at least 05 years of post-MBBS qualification experience or 02 years of post-MD qualification experience.

Age Limit: The maximum age for application is 60 years as of 01.07.2023.

Remuneration & Visiting Hours:

I. The MO will receive a monthly consolidated remuneration of up to Rs. 40,000, subject to the condition that the MO visits the office for 3 working hours, three days a week (days and timing to be mutually decided). Failure to meet the minimum criteria of visiting hours/days may result in pro-rata deductions from the remuneration. No additional perks or benefits will be provided, apart from the mentioned remuneration.

II. Candidates with higher experience may be considered for remuneration up to Rs. 50,000 per month.

Period of Engagement: The initial contract for the Medical Officer will be for two years. Based on the incumbent's performance, the contract may be renewed for a further period if required.

Scope of Work:

I. The MO will be responsible for passing medical bills for employees of all ITDC Units and providing medical advice to ITDC employees.

II. He/She will offer other medical advice as and when sought by the Management/Unit.

III. The incumbent will be required to fulfill all the duties mentioned in ITDC Medical Attendance Rules.

IV. In emergencies outside the prescribed visiting hours, the Medical Officer must be available on-call. An amount of Rs. 500, including conveyance, will be paid for each emergency call.

V. The MO will issue medical certificates free of charge for sickness, maternity, employment injury, and death, etc., in case of any treatment undertaken by him/her for employees.

VI. The incumbent will maintain a monthly record of patients' visits, passed medical bills, etc., and send monthly reports to the Concerned Authorities.

VII. He/She will also monitor the facilities provided by panel hospitals.

VIII. The MO will assist the corporation in admitting employees to Hospitals/Nursing homes if required.

IX. If necessary, he/she may visit hospitals/nursing homes to examine the condition of hospitalized employees and provide necessary medical advice to the corporation for further action.

X. The Medical Officer will advise the Corporation on all matters related to employees' health at the office. He/She will also provide health-related advice for obtaining various licenses/NOCs.

XI. No extra payment will be made for the administration of injections or prescription of essential medicines, etc.

XII. The Medical Officer should not treat any patient other than ITDC employees during the visit to the ITDC Office.

XIII. The medical attendance of employees should be restricted to office hours only. The MO will not charge any consultation fees from ITDC employees when they consult him/her at the ITDC Office.

XIV. The above list is inclusive but not exhaustive, and additional assignments may be given by the management.

Resignation/Termination: Either side should provide one month's notice.

Other Conditions: Part Time Medical Officer on a contract basis will not be eligible for any benefits available to regular employees of the Corporation, such as Leave, Leave Travel Concession, Provident Fund, Gratuity, Terminal benefits, Bonus, Reimbursement of Medical expenses, or any other allowances.

How to Apply:


Candidates need to apply online through the ITDC website: https://itdc.co.in/careers. No other means/mode of application will be accepted. Applications will be accepted from 11:00 Hrs on 26/07/23 to 23:59 Hrs on 21/08/23.

Before registering/applying online, candidates are advised to carefully go through the detailed instructions related to the application process. The candidate should have the following documents ready while applying online:

I. Valid email ID and mobile number.

II. Scanned copy of the latest passport photograph and signature in JPG/JPEG format (size not exceeding 1 MB) for uploading. The photo should be 450 pixels (H) x 350 pixels (W), and the signature file should be 200 pixels (H) x 600 pixels (W).

III. After submitting the online application, the system will generate an application form with a unique registration number, which will be sent to the candidate's email ID. The candidate should keep the form for future reference.

IV. Candidates are not required to submit a hard copy of the application form to ITDC at this stage.

V. ITDC will not be responsible for non-receipt of online applications or rejections due to incorrect information provided by the candidate.

VI. Requests for changes in mailing address/email ID/category/posts declared in the online application will not be entertained.

VII. Candidates need to upload all supporting documents (age, qualification, experience, No dues certificate for retired personnel, if applicable, etc.).

Note: Eligible candidates should submit only one application online. In case of multiple applications from a candidate, only the most recent application will be considered.

At the time of submission of the online application, candidates need to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 500 (excluding applicable Convenience Fee and Taxes).

General Information and Instructions:

Only candidates meeting the eligibility criteria can apply. Original documents supporting qualification, experience, and age must be produced at the time of the interview. Mere submission of the application or fulfillment of eligibility criteria does not guarantee selection or shortlisting for the interview.

If any certificate is issued in a language other than Hindi/English, candidates should submit a certified translation in either Hindi or English.

Candidates should submit No Dues certificate and Vigilance Clearance certificate, if applicable, issued by the employer on the eve of retirement and upload the same.

Mere eligibility does not guarantee being called for the interview. The Management's decision on all matters will be final, and no correspondence will be entertained from candidates regarding the selection/interview process.
